I don't know; I've been playing, "Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet" on Steam/GFWL and it's a bit wobbly with the frame-rate. At 30fps you feel painstakingly slow whilst 60fps makes you feel smooth as butter but fast and somewhat difficult to track with how the camera pans. This might not be the case with Dark Souls and I hope it won't be (Where someone here said the game/engine might be built around 30fps where enemies and yourself might move 'normally' at 30fps but at 60 or higher causes the game to actually speed up 2x.)

That would just be bad porting, not something inevitable "oh well, that's the nature of the engine"

Yeah, input lag is (IMO) the only time you can really see any difference.

Trolling? Maybe. If popping into a thread and only reading the last few posts before commenting counts, then I guess I'm guilty.

It has nothing to do with porting... If the base game is designed to have things timed by frames, you can't really just do a "good port" to get rid of it... you'd have to recode a potentially significant portion of the game.

Not you, the other guy. I mean the argument of calling someone a troll when there's nothing much to either prove or disprove anything.

I agree honestly, give us a user defined cap, but I don't care enough to really be bothered about it ala GFWL that actually can ruin games for me. My argument is that 30fps minimum is usually fine for any modern game.

Only thing is, there are just as many of us who couldn't care less about GFWL as it's never given us any trouble, and on the other hand 30fps will give us migraines from hell. So once again, get off your high horse and stop acting like only what you care about is important to the entire industry.

I wasn't ever saying they should keep a 30fps cap, was I? You're free to go and petition and complain. I'm not stopping you, nor would I complain if you did. I was simply saying that for most people, 30fps is fine. I'd rather 60fps but there's probably reasons why they don't want it. I doubt you'd get 30,000 people signing a petition about that...
