ok my 750 gb worked one day then would not work the next, it was actually in a mator external usb enclosure

anyhow figured it was common with the 7200.11 for this to happen

spent around 8 hours now reading internet and watching all the youtube videos which all say to do the same thing

connected the rx tx and ground correctly put sata power on / connect to hyperterminal in xp sp3 but i can not get any response


i know the cable works i did a loop back test

ctrl z in hyperterminal only gives me a right arrow sign NOT > but one like the right arrow on keyboard or number 6 on keypad

and thats all i get no matter what i do , nobody seems to provide an answer as to why ctrl z doesnt give you the correct prompt

failing any updates here its going in the bin and sticking with western digital products:thumb:
