A button shouldn't result in that behavior.

Are you sure the 8 pin CPU power and video card power connectors have been hooked up successfully?

does the vid card work in another PC?

I don't have another PC to test it in.

I just jumped the motherboard with a screwdriver, still no go. No display, nothing. I also hooked up another monitor as well, still nothing. I also tried different PCIe slots, even different monitor cables. I don't understand how this is possible. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Could the motherboard be shorting against the case? Try hooking up the bare minimum equipment (motherboard, CPU, memory, video card) outside the case on something non-conducting like cardboard. Verify your memory and CPU are seated properly.

Another thing common between both builds is the power outlet you are plugged into. DEFINITELY a long shot but you should try powering it up plugged into another socket.(like somewhere else, not the one right above/below what it's plugged into now) If it was not grounding well the PSU may be going into a sort of "protect" mode.

Also as Turgin suggested checking for any shorts is a good idea, although usually if a short is present the PSU will shut down after just a fraction of a second. Checking that everything is seated and connected properly is about the only place you have to look after that. Maybe somethings just barely not clicked all the way in.

If it's really taking a lot of time/effort and you have a Bestbuy near by I know they do diagnosis for free.(at my location at least)

I got it working. The power to the CPU wasn't plugged in all the way. lol My god , I feel stupid. Now, if I can just get this 8120 to stop running at 67 degrees while idle...

I've heard the stock cooler is not that sexy on those FX processors.

Always worth trying a quick re-seat though if you have any extra thermal paste lying around. I find a good mount is practically an art, and unless you do it all the time it's easy to get horrendous results.

I'm using an H50 on it with arctic thermal paste. My method was to put a small pea size amount in the middle and then use a credit card to smooth it out so it was thin and even. I put a destop fan on the radiator and that dropped it about 16 degrees. lol So I'm going to get a more powerful fan for a push pull config. Then I dropped the voltage down to 1.25 from 1.3 and that dropped it another 14 degrees so I'm right at 40C atm. That still seems high though given the lengths I'm going to cool this thing. Any ideas?

Well I really don't know enough about that CPU, but really idle temperatures are much less important than load temperatures. If your idle is high your load is probably going to be off the charts.

When I overclocked a i5 2500k with an Antec 620(same as the h50) it went pretty well, with load temperatures around 60C at 4.7GHZ and 1.3V. I don't remember what it idled at, but it was below 30C. This was with a push/pull configuration utilizing two of these fans. http://www.jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120mm-Case-Fan-D12SH-12-High-Speed-pr-3771.html I ran the fans at 7V using a fan controller to reduce the noise, so they were probably performing about like these http://jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120x120x20mm-Case-Fan-D12SL-12C-Low-Speed-pr-3825.html

The difference is one is high speed the other low speed, since I have a fan controller I bought the high speed versions because I can just slow them down if I want to. Turns out they are really loud at full speed though, and I pretty much always run them at 7V.(minimum for my fan controller) If I had to do it again I would get the medium speed version, so that I could have them move a decent amount of air at maximum, and at the low 7V setting they would be silent. The high speeds do move a ton of air at maximum, but the noise was too annoying for me.

These are about the cheapest decent radiator fans out there. When I mounted the Antec 620 I used the stock paste(some people say no no, but I say why not) and I set the radiator up as an exhaust at the top of the case. You will probably get the best temperatures with it set up as an intake fan, assuming your fan grills are not too restrictive. What's your ambient temperature like?

It's 79 degrees farenheit so that might be pushing things a bit higher.

Make sure the H50 pump isn't on an auto controlled fan header.
Might also be worth a reseat. I remember it being a PITA to get a good seat on that cooler.
