Build for an internet cafe...

Thread Starter
Greetings all.
I'm tasked with selecting a decent motherboard, CPU, router and memory for a small internet cafe. The internet must serve 10 users with desktop PCs and provide clients with the ability to connect there mobile devices to the internet.

I came up with the CPU, mobo and memory...but I need help with the router.
Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

Memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104223

Router - ??

What do you guys suggest? Any thing you guys think I should change? I should note, no APUs.

unless the op is going to load a pc game in the computer the FM1 will play any internet games at med settings

I really appreciate the help of finding an entire system but I only require the listed hardware in the OP; "motherboard, CPU, router and memory" redface.gif
However, you made a point about the APUs....they did ask for cost effective products. But they did not ask for a GPU recommendation.

It's for a school project, really. I don't actually have to purchase anything, but they want cost effective stuff and require I list out the pros and cons and cost benefits.

I do suppose it will be used for light gaming. They want us to talk about future proofing as well.

EDIT: I found out APUs won't work for this. redface.gif

Why won't APU's work?
I'd go with a G620 build with an H61 motherboard and 2x2gb ddr3 1333 cl9 ram, you can then add a 7750 or something for decent and cheap performance. That can be powered with a mere 400w psu btw.
wink.gif

Oops...
EDIT: "motherboard, CPU, router and memory"
-GIGABYTE GA-H61M-DS2 $55
-Intel Pentium G620 Sandy Bridge 2.6GHz $70
-SAMSUNG 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) $25
-The router part I owe it to you, I'm not really knowledgeable on that subject. :$

Prices from the Egg.

Go with whatever is the best option for price in your country.  i.e. don't base of Newegg prices.

I don't see how or why an apu wouldn't work...

How much light gaming are we talking about here? If it is very light I would simply go with Pentium G620 with a low cost H61 motherboard. In Internet cafe, power bill is one of your biggest operating cost. Hence an energy efficient system will in the long run, save you more money. An energy efficient PSU is also a must.

As for router, Linksys E2500 should do the job fine. Or is there any specific needs? You mentioned 3 mobile devices, what exactly?
