My 960t with an antec kuhler 620 with just the stock fan it came with NEVER goes above 42 under full load at 4.1-4.2 ghz this is why I see no point in bulldozer as their older chips run much cooler while being more power effecient and better clock for clock

This is what bothers me now about amd, I used to love them back in the day. They could not be beaten for the price.
But now they made a chip that is alot worse than their previous generation i.e running hawter more power solower clock for clock, but they marketed it so it made it look like an amazing "8 core cpu"!!!!!!!!!! and then slapped an awfull price on it and it sold to people less informed.
I do love amd but back in the glory day's where they actually cared about there chips.

pfft Stop with the lies already.. lachen.gif

Ridiculous. Bulldozer is NOT worse than Phenom II. It ain't a huge upgrade but it is still an upgrade. And so what if AMD didn't do great with Bulldozer? They suck now because Phenom II and Athlon II were great but Bulldozer isn't? Rather than flaming them all over the internet, why not wait and see what they come out with next?

And they did not hype bulldozer. Quite the opposite really as they didn't say a word about it til it was released. The rest was marketing spin. What did you want them to do? "Don't buy an FX chip cause the forum nerds don't like it so it must suck"? Yeah its slower than Sandy Bridge but its still a damn good processor. A Ferrari is faster than a BMW but I'd sure love to have a BMW. My X6 is maxing out all my games just fine.

that is why I intened to buy a FX 6200 to see how it compairs to my 1090T if it is close or better if its better them or close to it then the FX is a better buy I payed 200.00 for my 1090T then 6200 is 169.00 not on sale

No mcleod seriously I could quote alot of you guys from my 8120 thread saying that it would be a side/downgrade for me going from a 960>8120 I am not making this up.

Coming from a 1090T, I would not go with anything less than FX-8120. I don't have experience with the 6100/6200 cpus but I have heard that many people were disappointed with the 6100.

You wont quote me saying that. FX might be a sidedgrade in some applications but overall its still an upgrade. Now like I said, it ain't a huge upgrade so its not really worth it moving from a Thuban to a FX when talking performance per dollar but if you don't care about the "value" and just want the extra performance, there's nothing wrong with picking one up.

as I say I want to know frist hand what the FX chip dose and I will be able to say frist hand if the 6200 performs on the same level with the 1090T as the 1090T is no longer made it be nice to know what chip is on its par
post #220 of 627
As others have said the 6200 is no where near comparable to a 1090t its more like a quad, if you go bulldozer you either go an 8120/50 or you don't go at all.
