A very serous Question:

Witch chip will be faster a bulldozer 8150 @ 4.5 MHz or a piledriver 8350 @ 4.5 MHz ?

and why ?

PD should be a little faster clock for clock as well as use a little less power.  That's what I gather from what I've read so far.

But it depends on the workload as well. I thought they fixed some of the cache misses from bd to pd by going to larger l1 among other things, and this will make programs where this was an issue show better increases then ones where bd was working well. Along with lower power consumption at the same speeds from the resonant clock mesh they added.

More improvements for pd then I just mentioned and linked, but they alone should make up a decent chunk of the gains in both areas.

But the real deal is that will it fall short of the clock to clock performance of the Phenom II's.

Looking at the APUS released and since they are based on the same die and have piledriver cores they should perform well. I had a look at the A10-5800K which scored the same as the Phenom II x4 955 at stock clocks in 3D Mark 06 cpu score. Although this 3.8ghz vs 3.2ghz but nevertheless the APUS are always a toned done version of the desktop equivalent. So i guess maybe the piledriver quad core at 4ghz should perform exactly the same as a phenom II x4 at 3.8ghz. Piledriver thus, looks more promising as it will be able to overclock higher than the phenom II's and keeping in mind the increased IPC it should produce higher gains to as compared with the Phenom II's.
