Question: If the FX-8350 is clocked at 4.0MHz will there be as much overclocking head room as the FX-8150 ?

1. It wouldnt... It would be slower.

2. Technically no simply because the 8350 already has a 400mhz advantage.... But a completely moot scenario...

Looks like it's going to be AM3+ Steamroller CPU support through at least 2014.
Thats fantastic thumb.gif

Honestly, I just want native sata3 support. I want to ditch Marvell. tongue.gif

Remember only 28 more days to go

If this is the graph that I think it is then the general consensus is that the processor used is actually a 8170 engineering sample that never got released. Just what I have read... No proof either way.

Imo if those are the true figures then it's even slower than bulldozer, I really can't see AMD releasing anything that is not some kind of improvement on bulldozer it would destroy their reputation and they would probably lose the most avid fans.

I think piledriver is going to quietly suprise a lot of people

Interesting, in the CPU-Z capture in the above article it shows a fx 8350 running at nearly 4.1ghz on 0.9 volts vcore.... I don't think my bulldozer would dream about doing that....wonder what you could get out of it at 1.5v

Thats probably QnQ thing. I dont think it will be at just 0,9v for 4.1Ghz when u start P95, or something demanding. Piledriver is out in about a week, so we will see soon what did they achieved.

Probably find that some of the cores have swiched off and the remaining online cores have turbo'ed and that would explain why so little volts are necessary.
