You know that, and I know that, but that dude bought an 1100T and he's mad because it's not as fast as a Sandy, and he seems to have developed a pathological hatred of AMD because of it.
The best thing that can happen is for AMD to always have a competitive part, because otherwise Intel churns out overpriced crap and doesn't bother to release anything better until AMD does. The only reason we got the Core line of CPU's from them at all is because AMD was humiliating them with the Athlon 64 (P4 Emergency Edition, anyone? LOL). And back in the day, they only released the Pentium II because AMD's K6 was beating the crap out of their cache-bottlenecked Pentium MMX, and we got the P4 Northwood only after the Thunderbird stomped the Willamette P4.
The cycle is continuing now. It doesn't look like Ivy Bridge is much if any better than Sandy. But if AMD gets back in the game, Intel will stop sitting on its laurels.
