sell your 580, spend the money on a 680. you'll get gtx480 SLI performance and save money.

when i play bf3 on ultra all the cores are at 50% so no bottleneck

i cant get a 680 my budget is around $400, i originally was only going to spend $300 so i already am spending more than i wanted to.

ive heard 480 runs super hot do i have to change the cooler if i dont plan to overclock them

my motherboard has space inbetween each slot so they wont be close together

if you don't over clock then its not "needed" but its still has a loud fan and would spin up during games. its still a good idea if you can fine an after market cooler not only for temps but just the sound reduction. problem with the after market coolers is that they require 3 slots instead of the 2 that the stock uses.

Exactly. GTX580 is just 15 % faster than GTX480. I just do not get it why people even ask such obvious questions. All you need to do is look at gpureview and see the tech. difference. On a personal note i think GTX580 is way overpriced, compared to 3X more shader capable GTX680, the GTX580 looks obsolete.

Do have in mind the 500 W raw power draw from SLI GTX480 - so if you have a 700 W 80+ PSU, it will not be enough, since 150 W will go heat, 500 W will go to video cards and 50 W will go to the rest. You need a 1000 W 80+ PSU.. I would not make SLI GTX480 mostly due to this reason, but it would be much much faster than GTX580.
