The question is how big of a radiator do I need?

Thread Starter
I want my fans on the radiator to be virtually noise-free, and cool on high performances.

How big of a radiator do I need to cool my cpu at an above average rate? what type of fans do I need?

Specs:
-Asus sabertooth 990fx mobo
-AMD 6100-fx cpu 3.6 ghz ( only thing getting watercooled for now)
-Corsair A70 cpu heatsink
-Radeon HD 6790 (replacing soon)
-Corsair GT Force 120gb SSD
-750gb HDD
-Corsair 800D (watercooler friendly)
-running on dual monitors, 23" and 19" monitors

well I have a 800D case and amd fx-6100 cpu @3.6ghz and I want to overclock to 4.0ghz with a quiter cooling system. My aftermarket cpu fans are too loud. Only my cpu that is all for now.

You've given us basically zero information, but I can tell you a single CPU loop would easily be cooled by a thin 240mm radiator in push/pull with low RPM fans.

It basically depends on what you are trying to cool. Could you please fill out your system specs or post what you are trying to cool in here? Thanks

An RX360 radiator and AP14's will give you what your looking for. Great cooling for silence and will give your CPU (what ever it is) excellent cooling.

A 240 rad would cover that easily. But since your 800d can fit a 360 get one of those. That way it will cover a gpu, etc if you decide to add them later on down the road. Thanks

How many watt of power supply do you have?

My vote - 240/ or 360 for CPU only..

And a power supply has to do what with choosing a rad?

I'm going to say you was trying to ask how much heat in total he was trying to cool maybe?

OMG! Just check out something like the XSPC Rasa 750 RX kit .It has excellent rad good pump and reservoir, block, fans, fittings tubing and everything you need for a decent starter system. Try Frozen Cpu ,good selection and it will give you a good idea what is out there. You will be able to find slightly cheaper prices elsewhere, but not the selection. Continue to post questions people here are happy to help out. good luck bike.gif PS power supply has nothing to do with it.
