The depth of the BGears adapter is 15mm according to Systemlord:

Rad attached to box, and fans to rad, or something similar. The left and right side will look the same, so two rads.

That adapter will work to put 120mm fans on a 140mm radiator.

You mean this one? But would it take full advantage of the extra surface area, or would I get nearly performance with a 120.3 rad? I'm worried the airflow won't reach the entire surface because the fans will be right up against the rad fins.

Since it doesn't have the sloped change to 120mm-140mm it likely won't get much (if any) of the extra cooling a 140.3 radiator would give you over a 120.3 radiator.

I wonder if adding like a 5mm shroud would help. I know the Aquacomputer Airplex uses a 5mm gap on both sides.

Click on my build log (below) and you will see eight GT AP-15's mounted to eight BGears adapters mounted on two SR1 560 radiators! biggrin.gif

There was a LOT of modding needed to do this like needing 3/8" inch weather stripping to seal the fan/adapter as one!

I have seen the 200mm radiator w/ 2 x 180mm fans + adapter plate from Corsair 600D and 600t case owners. then this will be fine... tongue.gif

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "this". But I'll definitely need some luck, as this is my first time WC, and I'm planning to build a pedestal for the rads thumbsupsmiley.png
