For Sale:
[SOLD] ASUS Maximus IV Extreme, broken pin

Will Ship To: Global

Hey guys.
I have a spare ASUS Maximus IV Extreme up for sale.
It is a beautiful card, never had a single problem with it and makes overclock look like a kiddy game.
Sadly I broke a socket pin accidentally with a towel, while I was trying to remove the TIM from it.

I replaced it with a new one, so this will go for sale at a bargain price: 100€ + shipping costs.

I do not have the tools nor the patience to fix it, but if you do feel free to take it. It might even post but I didn't try it, so after buying it's up to you!
Everything else is working flawlessy of course, no damages at all.

Comes with original accessories and box, everything included. Feel free to PM me for question and for shipping quotes!

As far as I know they charge a small amount, like 30/35$ for fixing pins. Just something I saw online though, didn't contact them tbh

So why didn't you RMA it?

Pretty sure ASUS would tell you to get stuffed on an RMA request because that isn't the fault of the board or the manufacturer, but the end user. mellowsmiley.gif

If you have a mechanical pencil I'm sure it can be fixed though. Well unless it's floating around in there not making complete contact. You just have to be careful when threading the pin into the tip of an empty mechanical pencil. That should straighten it out enough to make the board serviceable again. smile.gif

Huh I thought ASUS' customer support was amazing. Even if it was the end users fault. :/

Exactly this.
I saw they can either refuse the RMA or charge it's fixing to you. So I just skipped the whole thing and went for a new one.
I tried with a mech pencil but the pins were just too little. I didn't have a suitable magnifying glass as well.

Someone with the right tools could fix it though.

ASUS charges $120 standard. I've asked before.
"bent pins as you mentioned are not covered under factory warranty , as I remember the price to get them fixed is around 120 dollars for the repair."
