I don't have these in a case yet, but here is a quick picture. The 5050's are on the left, and the 3528 are on the right. Both are the cool white. This first picture is without flash:

I know its sometimes tough to tell in pictures, so I'll describe what I'm seeing. The 5050's are putting out quite a bit more light. But...the 3528's look like they would be less distinct in the case...or what I'm trying to say is that you would notice the light source less with the 3528's, and simply notice the light it produces. Or at least that is what it seems like outside of the case. I'll post again after I get them inside a case.
I'll also say that if you leave them on the roll they come in, they get hot fast! Was starting to smell melting plastic before I yanked the wires out. These things are bright!
Also, ignore the fan/radiator mess in the background. I'm in the middle of a fan round-up test. Look for a review/thread soon, but I'll give you a sneak peek at the results....the Noise Blockers fared well.
