Debating on new monitors for an eyefinity setup 3x1 or 3x2 horizontal...

So i've been debating on doing such a build, Specialy with 1440p, or 1600p monitors, The first question that has to be asked is, Can 6 Display ports be converted to 6 Dual-link DVI, And secondly is 2-3 7970s or 7990+ 7970 +7970 Going to be able to handle that kind of resolution thats what..... 7680x2880/3200, Probably only going to go for the 1440p monitors though, I hear alot of OCN are buying Korean IPS, anyone know if you get a mass buy discount, and anyone know of a stand for 6 monitors in 3 across 2 vertical, keep in mind this is all just Theory at the moment

Can Eyefinity even do that kind of resolution? i mean that's just a ~little~ out there, i've heard of an eyefinity 6 setup being done with 1080p monitors, But not 1440 or greater, And how much GPU grunt am i going to need, right now we are only dealing with console ports and the odd exclusive here and there, But still i would assume 2 7970s and a 7990 should be able to handle it, Granted it'll only be 3GB Vram...

Hi, I run 3 Catleap with no problems on 2x 7970's. the thing with the 7970's is even if you run with low/lower fps than normal it’s still smooth, I was playing BF3 @ 7860X1440 Max settings apart from AA last night for 2hrs before I realised I had been running on 1 card lol so I think 7990/7970 would be the sweep spot for eyefinity 6, as for 6 Dual Dvi output I can’t answer, but would like to know myself so I can use a 4th 1600p monitor above the rest, looking about you would need the ASUS card with 4x DP or wait for the 7990.

If I was to start again I would go 3x 680's, i still think the 7970 is a better card but drivers are a pain, I’ve had nothing but problems going from 3870x2,6970's,6990's to 7970's every setup I’ve had be it on x59-x79 has had it driver problems, my mate just sold his cards for 680's and thinks its miles better with a few less FPS @ eyefinty res but no screen tear etc.. .
