Yup with the 3930k being a 6core you need more voltages to keep thing stable which in turns churns out more heat.

So yea 5.0 24/7 is pretty much out of the territory most of the 2011 chips. Even a full loop would be pretty hard to tame the heat unless you got a golden chip.
Small wonder.

16gig of ddr3 2133 G Skill Ares
GTX 580 Gainward 3gb O/C
Asus P9X79 Pro Mobo
120g Sata6g/s SSD for OS and main progs.
Have a 240gig SSD on the way atm for more installs
1 Terra Sata6g/s and a 500g Sata3g/s Seagates for storage
Corsair AX750 Gold PSU
All in a NZXT Phantom
Runs 2x 200mm and a 120mm nzxt exhaust fans
x1 120mm and 140mm noctua intake and 2x 120mm NZXT intakes
Fan up some shrouding to help direct air around out of polycarb and yes the best system I've built, Cannot complain one bit

I think late next year I'll probably throw in a 6 series gfx card and another 16g of ram and should be fine too last me a few years
