How to Overclock HP dv6000 w/ Intel Core Duo T5200

You make think to tell me dont do it but listen.

The LCD on this Laptop died i have take out the motherboard and i have it running with an external LCD

Now heres the cool part. I have put a Zalman CNPS12X cpu cooler after some small welding and cutting of brackets i got it on the Laptop motherboard.

My temps are 24C idle and 37C wi.th Prime95 running. I know there is room for Overclocking. Im at 1.66 Ghz i would like to get 2.0 or higher.

What are my options? Cooling wont be a problem for me. I have an extra Crucial Brand watercooler if i need to put that on. What do you guys think?

I will put pictures soon

Emm...wouldn't the laptop motherboard be locked from clocking no? And even if you could unlock it, would clock terribly.

this.

The Problem with Laptops in general isn't the cooling. Its the locked bios, and therefore you prob won't get the results you want.
Small wonder.

I've heard of people using Clockgen to overclock but that may be an Outdated program by now.

I figure since went through the trouble of getting a Zalman CPU cooler on a laptop motherboard i would try to overclock it

Really don't think it would be worth your while. You could pick up a second hand E8600, Q6600 etc and board pretty cheaply and it would outperform this x4.

Is the laptop board LGA775? If so, you can basically pick any Conroe, Wolfdale, Kentfield etc cpus (Core 2 Duos and Quads).

I have no idea who ships to the Philippines though :/

it's HP laptop they don't have the greatest cooling so dont risk your motherboard or cpu getting fried.

All the processors you can have are listed there.

You're very limited in terms of overclocking with those chips anyway since their main focus is low TDP and power consumption in a laptop.
