Get the 960T, I got many recommendations to get a Phenom series over Fx, but I got the Fx-8150 anyways over the Amd Phenom x6 just because its newer...........It was one of the worst decisions I've made.sad-smiley-002.gif

The FX 8150 has 8 cores not 6 biggrin.gif
But Typos will be Typos.
Edit: Oh wait, that's not a typo, where did you get a six core 8150?

1. It is new
2. Scores higher according to Passmark: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
3. Uses am3+ and if you do get am3+ motherboard, you can stay with it for a longer time because amd plans to bring its upcoming chips to am3 motherboards so it'll last you long as well if you plan on upgrading.
Also to answer the question of people telling you to unlock the 2 extra cores. They were closed down by "amd" due to their unstability so why unlock them so that you can put your motherboard on fire or melt your cpu down? i mean there's a huge risk in doing that so why bother pointing it out.

No....

1. You can use am3 cpu in am3+ mobo
2. Not all cores are locked because of stability, some were locked to fill demand.
3. Leave the benchmarks to benchers, he's a gamer so real world performance is more important.
4. Even if the core is unstable, it can usually be stabilized with a bit more voltage (why amd locked it is because it couldn't fit the tdp at it's frequency, most normal case.) and even if it's not stable it's never going to set your motherboard on fire, or melt it.... what an ignorant thing to say, the worst that will happen is you won't post, and you'll have to clear your cmos. Or it will blue screen in windows, either way there will be no MELTING and no FIRE.

The Only Way I can See a fire is if one deliberately takes some flammable material and wedge it between the heat sink and CPU, and turn off all active cooling.
But that's silly inst it?

Thanks for the Reply's. I do have an AM3+ motherboard and i do OverClock. To bad my phenom x555 is Unstable when unlocking the extra 1 - 2 cores frown.gif. By the responses ill go For the 960t with coolermaster hyper 212+ evo.

It depends on you which CPU you choose, but all the hype about bulldozer being weak, is just wrong...that's all i wanted to say up there but apparently my words were picked up.
I had a fx 4100 and oc'ed it to 4.6ghz, its now sitting on my desk in the case the 960t came in. The 960t at stock before any cores unlock does better in gaming then the fx 4100 OC'ed to 4.6ghz. I dunno what the deal is with that thing but i hated it from the moment i had put it in. Thank god its not in my computer anymore lol I am kinda curious if after installed the bulldozer patches if i should reinstall windows since i switched away from it. On a side note i disabled to extra two cores and oc'ed to 3.8ghz 2600 cpu-nb and upped my ram to 1600. Runs like a champ. Kinda scared to try and OC that high on 6 cores.
