One more thing, the card has a 6-pin connector but I left most of my power cables at home (400 miles away) so I'm using this 2x4-pin to 6 pin adapter to power the card. Anyways when I oc my gpu more than like 15% the driver drops out on me but recovers. I know power supply companies tell you to only use their supplied cables but any suggestions? Would this be caused by the adapter or psu? or should i RMA?

No, that's normal. Your GPU is factory overclocked. How you achieve even those 15% is beyond me biggrin.gif
The stock core freq of 550Ti is 900Mhz. Everything above 1Ghz is a bless smile.gif

sweettt.

clocked to exactly 1000 MHz. I ran a 15 minute stress test with Scanner X, and i'm idling at what seems like a pretty stable 36C.
Thanks for the help!

There a reason a 260 is consired the sweet spot for physx the thing about the 8800 is its TOO slow. I would litterally gain nothing from that.
