Given a new thread as a guide since it will help new people avoid driver conflicts which can cause game crashes and poor benchmarks.
(Best to disconnect internet before uninstalling driver so PC does not look for new drivers on the net after reboot) Thx Crash
(Original thread here)
Step 1: Find the driver version installed at present

Write down the driver version... Mine is 7.1.2.4.
Step 2: Download nVidia Nasty File Remover
Step 3: Uninstall old drivers by following step 1 and clicking Uninstall Drivers. (This will uninstall GPU drivers only which is good if you have an nForce board because Control Panel can sometimes uninstall all nVidia drivers)
Step 4: Reboot PC
Step 5: Run nVidia Nasty File Remover and search for all files that relate to your driver version. I would look for all files that are 7.1.2.4 if I uninstalled mine. Select them and delete them.
Step 6: Reboot PC
Step 7: Install new drivers. Check HERE for newest nVidia drivers that are suitable for your GPU. (Always reboot after installing drivers)
