Might be a good idea, I'll try to check for the same fan. Either way, the CM R4 seems to do its job for now smile.gif
So, after a good 6 hour (with a pause of ~10m to install the 2nd fan) of Prime95, here are my results: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Sorry about Overdrive being in french, but should be the same as the english one.
Thank alot for all the tips, I'm pretty happy with the performance boost thumb.gif

That is a very nice overclock. If youve made it 6+ hours with Prime95 and are in the low 40's, youre set. Even if your core temp sensor is off, your socket temp is only 52 and thats always gonna be higher than your core temp and 52 is a very nice temp. Heck, its better than mine and Im 1MHz slower than you!

Another thing to remember is case fans. Im a big believer in them and think they can make a big difference. Ive got 5 running in my Antec 300 right now with 3 of them running as intake and 2 as exhaust. Ive got pretty low ambient temp since my computer room is in my basement. It really helps my GPU cause Ive got a case fan blowing right onto it. That thing stays in the 60's almost all the time.

Thats a good overclock. I tend to focus on NB for memory performance with the Phenom IIs. If you have a good MB, you should be able to push the NB to 3.0Ghz with about 1.225v. CPU-NB should be at least 1.4-1.42 . In my case, I could only get 3.9ghz stable out of my thuban (1705t) so I worked the NB and memory timings (xms3 @ 1600mhz 7-8-7-15 1T) and eliminated some bottlenecks (memory latency is about 35-37ns) (mem copy = 14039mb/s)

Thank you and, for the case fans, I have a lot of them. In fact, I bought the Antec Eleven Hundred for that actually (and the "classy" look, my opinion of course smile.gif).

I have 2 exhaust (one 120 / one 200mm) and 4 intake (2 in front / 2 directly blowing on the gpu). What I always found special is that, with these fan, I get a pretty big temperature difference in the case if they're there or not. But, there's a minimal difference between them at 40% and them at 100% (~3C, and it starts to sound like a jet).
I think I'm pretty good in regard of the fans, maybe the next step is water cooling... but it's that or a Piledriver, will see how AMD goes with this one rolleyes.gif

Btw, last question (well, for now tongue.gif), is there a benefit from using a different thermal paste (like an Artic Silver 5) instead of the one that CM give with their Hyper 212?

EDIT:

Hmm, never tought of memory overclocking, as I don't know anything about timings & cie. Will try the NB to 3000 Mhz tough, sounds possible. Btw, do you have any good tutorials to suggest about memory timings (I got XMS3 @ 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24-1T I think), would be nice to try it smile.gif
Thank you!

Just Make Sure that the temps don't run at 68 or more, that's when things start to get rather unstable.
Great Overclock, I wish I had a Thuban :/

Btw, DON'T get a piledriver, I started a thread asking whether I should get the Phenom or Bulldozer, and everyone told me phenom, but ignorant as I am , I chose bulldozer. It irritates me to know that I could have had maybe 30 percent better performance........but hey its not too late.

When I first got my Hyper 212 I got it along with a Phenom II X2 555. I used the Cooler Master paste that came with it and ran the proc unlocked to a 3 core at 4 GHz for about a year and got great temps. Stuck the 1090 in there and used some more Cooler Master paste and got great temps running it at 3.8. When I got my beloved Sabertooth, I picked up some Arctic Silver and used it. Getting good temps.

Personally, I think all major brand pastes are as good as any other.

Well, the real problem with bulldozer, if I recall right, is its performance in float number (wich is expected since there's two times more Integer unit in a Bulldozer cpu). But, from the information I got from Trinity, it seems that AMD figured that out (at least, got it to the level of a Phenom II regarding single-thread). Either way, I won't buy one until I see the benchmarks. If they turn as much crap as bulldozer (the Phenom 1st gen wasn't exactly a success tongue.gif), I won't buy them.
But... I'm somewhat an ATI / AMD "fanboy", so it will need an other big fail from AMD for me to switch smile.gif

It's what I tought, so the problem with the paste is me xD

Hehe, my reason was ATI = Canadian (I know, so biased) and that I got an AMD in my first budget-gaming build, so was able to put a "beast" graphic card (5770) in my 800$ machine while my friend had the same perf in games with its 1000$ Intel-machine, value-wise, AMD is (was?) awesome! biggrin.gif

I am definitely jealous of your low voltage your using to get your OC. i have mine at 4.2Ghz but I'm pushing 1.5V to it. I also have my NB set to 3000 @ 1.25V.

As far as the AMD Intel business goes, I've been a hardcore AMD fanboy for many years, but I'm ordering my sandybridge this week:sad-smile. Sad I know. I have been AMD in the past because of there price to gaming performance ratio but it seems intel has joined the bargain bin. But I'm still keepin my old 1090T around.
