minecraft noob what is this block?

i cant seem to find what this block is i found it very deep in the world it emits like a little fog or radiation kinda thing from the blocks.

Bedrock. It's a few layers thick. You can't mine it and if you did remove it in creative mode you'd fall from planet Minecraft and die.

I don't play minecraft, but that would lead me to believe you're getting closer to the earth's core or magma? I'd be careful haha.

Bed rock. You can't dig passed it unless you have a mod or you're in creative mode. That's just there to stop the players digging out of the world.

LOL that is bedrock, the rock under all other rock. Once you dig through that or blast through it with TNT there will just be black empty space.

That's a really awesome idea, being able to somehow mine molten metals from the core of the world. I wonder if Tekkit employs this feature in buildcraft or industrialcraft? Great Idea man!
