Uhh is MSI LIve update 5 safe to use? I have bios version 4.0 and about to upgrade to 4.7 (if) Live update 5 is reliable, because i've heard about m-flash bricking boards

Saw this once with a dell XPS at work. Even after a restore it had the same problem. We couldn't figure it out either. Interesting In seeing what the problem was.

MSI Live Update is fine to use. I still like the usb flash drive method myself though. Thanks

Did you clear the cmos and load setup defaults after the flash? Also did it fix your memory issue and did you find the memory remap feature? Thanks

No i haven't done it yet, I'm asking if i should take out my oc before i do it. But when i revert to normal settings my cpu goes to 1.8ghz instead of 2.4 like a regular q6600 should

Yes that is why I put clear cmos and then load default setups. You always want to clear everything and start fresh on a new bios. The lower cpu speed is probably a fsb ram setting. Thanks

Nope, it just took out the 4GB part and i have 2GB total ram installed lol, i knew it.

Did you find the memory remap setting? Also try this just for kicks.

msconfig
boot
advanced options
check, maximum memory box {set full memory}
apply

Reboot and then check the total amount of memory. Then if it didn't work, undo all of it and hit apply and reboot and check it then. Thanks
