Cheap DDR5 graphics card? - Page 2

Get a 5770/6850.
The 'HD' tag is just a gimmick, just a difference in what display modes you can use.

I recommend a Vertex 2 for your SSD.

How about the nVidia 520? it sells in Australia for $45AUD, so surely it's significantly cheaper over there.

Yeah, that is exactly why i offered one of my spares, because I would only ask $25. I did not know you are from Europe though. frown.gif Otherwise I wouldn't mind selling you that card to help you out.

I already purchased Crucial M4, but thanks for the recommendation smile.gif I do realise the 'HD' tag is a gimmick, but I prefer to use the full name, don't know why tongue.gif

Would a HD5450 be a better card than my current one? smile.gif

it would be a slight, but significant improvement. my brother uses the HD 5450 for LoL, TF2, and other tasks, it even plays skyrim with lower settings, so i'd give it a whirl.

The HD5450 supports DX10/11 and it uses less power, but according to passmark It is less powerful.

If I were in your position, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second hand card. For example:

GTS 450, 5 hours to go.

EDIT: Novatech and Scan are good sites that I use often.

Also, an HD 6670. Roughly the same as a 8800/9800/GTS 250

Faster than your card by a very long way.

for £50 i would say
Asus HD 6570 1GB £48.78

but i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you

MSI HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 £71.60

and for SSD i would say its definitely worth paying 10 bucks extra and getting the one of the best SSDs in the market i would say
Crucial 64GB M4 SSD £62.66 whereas the cheapest SSD is OCZ Technology 64GB Petrol SSD £54.77

Hope that helped thumb.gif
