geek hack? - Page 3

Not that hard to just take it down, now is it?

Even if you are using links to pages other than the main one, still can by habit click the "forum" button and get nailed.

Going to try not to visit there anymore as it is the only site I go on that even makes me need to do things like turn java off and run noscript. However, it has been the most convenient place for me to feed what is/was an enjoyable new hobby. Oh well.

There was no virus on Geekhack.... it was a javascript that went out and downloaded malware and other scripts. So you may have something on your PC that was still preventing it. Software firewall may prevent such an infiltration. I haven't had an issue since the restore the other day. Just the redirect on the index page.

I guess I shouldn't say there was no virus.... there was malware/trojans embedded in the html at some point. It seems there were several different malicious scripts/software used as well as several different exploits utilized. I would avoid it all together at this point. The embedded crap seems to be gone at this particular point in time though.

So i went to geekhack last night and 2 hours ago looking at ripster old posts but it didn't redirect me to a rootworm thing you guys are talking about. Do I have anything to worry about? What can I do? Should I just run in safemode and do what Itznfb say to do?

Well. Now I'm really stressing out that I got infected. What should I do to make sure I'm 100% clean.
