One Fan I Good For The 620

Hi there Birdman,
This is my first post on this site. I just joined 5 minutes ago, and I have very little know how on computer hardware. But, I did just have the Kuhler 620 installed. I read alot on the best way to set this up for maximum coolage. The Kuhler people tested the different variations and found that the best way to cool the entire system is to have the Kuhler 120mm fan facing Inward. Behind the radiator blowing across the other components and exhaust at the top or front. They showed this configuration has the best cooling, not for just the cpu, but all the other parts as well. They also tested with two fans in a push, pull, setup and said it made little difference in the temperature using the second fan. I have Amd 960t, and want to learn to overclock, without using the Asus Turbo V software that came with my new mobo.
I may add one, (a second fan, to the radiator) anyway, as I need some more cooling and a little more color in my window case. I did add 2 extra small 80mm case fans, and the system stays around 35 idle and 40 when gaming. This cooler is great, and for the new low price at Newegg of $56.00, it's a steal! If I were you, I'd use one fan, blowing out, and mount that other one some place else. Sorry I don't have the link for the Kuhler test, but it's out there.

Welcome to the family mate. wave2.gif Go to your profile and use the rigbuilder to show us all the spec of your rig. We love pics of peoples rigs here also. wink.gif

I run an Antec 920 with push / pull fans (exhaust) and love it.

Thanks for welcome,
I checked out the profile and they want alot of info that I don't know. But, I just had a new mobo installed,, Asus m5a88v evo, and Amd 960t, with 6 cores and 8gigs of G.Skill ram. I'm no techi and would really like to learn how to overclock this new Amd 960t-I have 6 cores running, and my new Asus mobo has the software for auto overclocking, but I'm told it's not real good to use. It's slightly overclocked now to 3.4 but I'd like to find out how to take it up alot more, especially now I have the cooling under control. It's running around 34-35 c idle and 40 gaming. But, I'm a rookie to the whole overclocking and anyone that can help me push this cpu higher I'd like to hear from. I'm trying to find that test done by Kuhler on the different setup options. So far, I can't find it. I need some of those long fan bolts to add a second fan. Do you happen to know what the size is of those? It may be the same as the 920.
