My 8020 Sim Cockpit - Any other sim racers?

Thread Starter
Finally finished creating my racing rig. Made out of 8020 extrusions and MDF boards. Waiting on
more materials so I can add the other two screens to complete my Eyefinity setup. Debating if I
should even go back to Nvidia and possibly do some 3D surround. We'll see in the future
if I'll go that route. I'll wait and see for the newer cards to come out.

Just curious if there are any other racers on here. I started my iRacing career last night and loving
every minute of it. Having a simple rig changes the whole feeling of racing.

8020 is the greatest material ever. I can buy some simple nuts and bolts and add on to it as I go
as long as I have enough 8020 material. You can get them cheap off of eBay which is where I
purchased my material.

Specs:
Logitech G27 Wheel and Shifter
Fanatec ClubSport Pedals
8020 15 Series Extrusions
MDF Boards
eBay Racing Seat

Update:
Brainstormed something together this beautiful California Sunday afternoon to make
a little table for my mouse and beer. Mandatory add-on if I might say!

Dang Ryyy.....I'm surprised nobody commented on this simrig of yours. Looks awesome man! I'm just now getting into the Sim racing thing myself and will be working on my own little simrig here real soon. Great job man!

BTW....if you have any more updated pics on your rig....it would be cool to see them. I actually came across this thread of yours while I was searching google for aluminum 8020 Series Extrusions.........odd that I end up back at a place I was already a member of. hehe.

Very nice! I don't have a setup yet, been wanting one for a while...

Really want something like the Force Dynamics 401cr...

Me personally , I'm going with 3 X 27" screens for an eyefinity setup. Within the next week or two I'll be picking up a Thrustmaster T500 wheel / peddle set and then a few weeks after that going for the F1 wheel they make for it. ( Probably a modded version ). I'll be building my new simrig as soon as the wheel / peddles get here. Actually going to try and make it so I can use it as a driving sim & a flight sim as well. And while I'm at it.....see if I can swap / move things around and use it as my regular shooter rig as well. Should be a fun winter.

Wow, looks great man. Now I know who not to race against when Project Cars launches, and I am sucking it up with my modest wired 360 controller.
