Prime95 Load Temps.

Thread Starter
Currently, after 30 mins of prime95, here are my temps:
Core 0: 78C (been this way for 10 mins and never went up or down)
Core 1: 85C
Core 2: 88C
Core 3: 84C

Specs:
Core i5-2500k
GIGABYTE Z68X-UD3H
Sapphire Radeon 7950 1000 MHz OC edition
PCPC Silencer MK 950W PSU

Are they good or too high?

What cooler do you have?

My Antec Kuhler 620, after about an hour of Prime95, sits at 64-66c on all 4 cores, so that sounds like your using the stock cooler.

If that's stock clock and voltage it's way too high. What cooler do you have?

thats way too high for a 2500k , get yourself a h60 or something .. you should see low to high 60's in prime MAX .

If u were running a 2600k with HT you would of hit throttle .

Either your heatsink is not on correctly , or the thermal paste needs changing . Get a whole new cooler , h60 is cheap , easy to install and u wont see over 65c guarenteed .

Those are temps when OCed to 4.5 GHz. Cooler is the Hyper 212 EVO.

1:13 hrs and core temps are all at 84.

The temps are a bit high for p95, but plenty of people who aim for 5GHz overclocks tend to stop in the 80s range during stress test, so it's safe to say you're not going to damage your CPU by just using it normally for gaming/browsing/work where temps will be lower.

If you're planning on constantly stressing it with something like F@H, then they're too high. it's best for high load temps to be around 60-70c.

Just wondering, what are your ambient temps? Case model? Amount of fans? There's lots of factors when it comes to temperatures, as well as the settings you dialed in the BIOS...
