I take that back, there is enterprise use for SSD storage. But to put music/videos on? no benefit, and its just wasting the space. Slap your friend.

SSDs for storage...? You're wasting your money... Hard drives do the same job with almost no noticeable difference.

So... you win!

Should I slap you? I use a SSD to store my photo library filled with RAW files and edit in lightroom and photoshop. My SSD is far better than my HDD is for the task!

Should I slap you? I catered my response to the context of the question. If you have to go way off base to go against what I said your missing the point.

Depends if you are only reading the files then a SSD won't matter, but if you are editing and writing then there will be a difference. Tho for video a RAID array of HDDs would suite better.

Well, ideally you use an SSD for OS and important programs, and HDD for any excessive amounts of media (music, videos, etc).

However, since all my data (OS, programs, games, and media) only consume 77 GB of my 120 GB SSD, there's no need for me to have a secondary internal HDD.

That said, I do have an external 1 TB HDD for movies and ISOs that I don't need to keep stored on my SSD for access 24/7.

for the common folk, music and videos , think about it, are streaming content, so you dont need the fast access an ssd gives for that
