super cheap cpu block....does it suck? - Page 2

I recommend the RASA over that CPU block personally.

Seems like its not "the best" block but I would not say it "sucks". It's a copper plate with stuff to hold it down and has even some fins. Plus a nice selection of accessories.

You can get more performance for more price ofc, but as far as I understand it if the piece of copper has good contact with CPU and has some water moving on the other side of it they all work sort of similar within some degrees of each other. So at the end of the day it depends on how much you can spend and at what price points are the available alternatives.

super cheap...
also I read a lot of great reviews on the xspc raystorm which I can get for $60 from amazon. Is there a better one for around the same price or a little more

Just for future reference, I have one of these blocks and it really isn't bad at all. For the money, it's a steal. Just the fittings alone are worth $10+. I have one that I used on my Q6600 @ 3.8GHz @ 53 Celsius MAX with just one crappy/thin 120mm radiator. Can't complain I guess.

make sure it is in fact made out of copper!(probably) ocz is an insanelly big name they wouldnt put their name on inferior techno!from the picture i say get it!make sure to follow ocz recommendation ,cause they tend to be exaustive normally on their info!i doubt you ll have heat issue!(might need other product so go read install info and all so you all buy at the same )
dam i hate when they do this!you need to adjust the pressure by adding shim ,but you ll need to sand it to half its original thickness(thisd would be on top of the original set of washer, cause like they say the other set would ecced intel pressure spec!why dont they supply the proper thickness of washer so you are just shy of the max intel value
post #20 of 20
Its just an older block, I think OCZ stopped making those back in 2005.
