As the title says, if you own an i5-2550K can you please post your stats here. Tell me your batch number and how far you have been able to push it. I have an i5-2550K Batch # - L114C089
I have it running 24/7 right now @ 4.5Ghz with a Vcore of 1.265

I have it cooled by a Hyper 212+ and the highest temp it sees at full load is maybe 65Cish.

Nice. Yeah I was able to go to 5.0 but it was running real hot with 1.4vcore. Hyper 212+ isn't going to cut it for me like that. =/

Get some water cooling... it usually always helps. I've heard that most of the time you can get comparable temps with just air cooling but in some case watercooling is just the way to go

i regret not getting a 2550k when i had the chance.

lack of igp+cherry picked silicon=massive oc headroom and better temps.

seriously, if you don't find the need for integrated graphics, from what i've seen/heard so far, these are great chips.

I plan on getting some kind of water cooling for it. Working on that now. Gotta sell my old stuff before I can look into WC'ing options.

That is what I heard. Apparently since it doesn't have igp it also runs cooler. Right now I am folding @ 4.5Ghz 1.265Vcore with a max temp of 59C.

Picture/proof or it didnt happen.

5.2ghz, 74 degrees @ load on that Zalman cooler ?
What voltage ?

OT:

I had a 2550K a few days ago.
Dont know what batch number though.

It dit 4,9ghz on 1.37V and 5,0ghz on 1.4V

I dont think 2550K are cherry picked though, they are just 2500K's without an IGP and 1 multi higher.

Unless someone knows otherwise I think the IGP is simply disabled. I think the only advantage these chips have over a 2500k is that they might run cooler allowing for more headroom, not necessarily overclock better aka less voltage per clock.

Batch # L147C264
5.0 @ 1.480v
Raystorm, 655b, ek 150 res, gtx 360 w/ r4's push pull.
Prime 95 Small FFTs max 64 average around 61, blend max 64 average around 54, ambient 22

Also once you get past 4.5ghz you really need some voltage with my chip.

Yeah I am able to keep my Vcore below 1.3 as far as 4.6. I never tried 4.7 but 4.8 I need to crank the juice up to I think it was 1.320. Still not bad. I forget what I had it at when I attempted 5. Someone told me to try 1.5 but I didn't want to. To high for my liking. I think it was around 1.375ish. Once I get a better cpu cooler I will attempt 5 again just for the heck of it, but 4.5 is what I will be keeping mine at. Especially since I am able to keep my Vcore at 1.265 for 4.5 and runs rock solid for me. Highest temp I have going right now is 59C while folding. I think the highest it went during IBT was like 65c.

Sounds like a really good chip. @ 4.7 I needed to adjust my PLL voltage to really fine tune things, I think I needed 1.4 core v. To even BOOT into windows past 4.7 I needed enable to PLL overvoltage, I even tried 1.54 w/o it @ 4.8 and it would not go. I guess I got the short end of the stick but I'm alright with it. I think once I add in my gpu block for my 7970 I'll take it back down to 4.7 anyways.
