I use the ED500 Datavac and it's better than any canned air out there, especially considering it doesn't bottom out

DataVac for the win. Paid for itself in a month. Great especially if it's all new parts in a rig, or they have just been thoroughly cleaned. It's a great, and simple way to keep your components clean!

An electric pump, the ones used for filling up air mattresses (it has to have a hose/tube attachment) work amazingly well, and are very affordable.

For the cost of something like that, why not just get the DataVac? headscratch.gif

Aren't the lower end DataVac's about $50? The one I mentioned can be bought at any retailer for about $15-20 bucks. Most people are on super tight budgets nowadays so every dollar counts, although ideally DataVac's would be the way to go.

Thread Starter
my dad has an air compressor. albeit about as old as me and with wheels welded on. the only problem is is the size of it and the constant requirement to drain the 8oz of liquid buildup in the tank. I'll have a poke around for a datavac or its alternatives (vantec tornado attached to a funnel?) and report back.

If that doesn't get rid of the dust, nothing short of a tornado will. I was advised when I bought it to only use it outdoors and to let the motor cool when it gets too warm. Comes with a wide range of attachments that will allow the duster to adapt to most any circumstance. Some people have complained about the nozzle flying off during use, but it hasn't happened for me as of yet.
NOTE: it is not quiet.

I've got the same one. It's awesome!
