"Tekitou" Zalman Z9 plus..mod log

Thread Starter
This is my first computer build from the ground up. At first I thought I would just buy the parts and throw it together, but I should have known thats not me. Always have to be tinkering with something...

I already started a thread on moving my Antec 620
here. Sorry if this is a double post, but I probably should have started it here in the first place.

Anyways

My rig

So some new toys I bought.metal shears, small drill wih a led light (lol ya pink..it was cheap) and vinyl cutter.
464

used the shears to cut off the mesh then filed and pounded the edges as nice as possible. I use to make custom radio controled rock crawlers so I got a bunch of spacers and stuff that came in handy.
400

and the finished product for now. This is my first time working with vinyl. I tried breaking off a corner before cutting deep enough in to the vinyl so I got a crack in the top left corner. Might redo it later
409
400
700

also thinking of making a window in the bottom right to show off the rad.

I really like the way that looks with it indented. Is it opened so that air can get through the crack between the window and panel still?

Nice job. I have the same case. I want to mod the side panel but have not decided on the final layout yet.I have to have a side fan for overclocking purposes.I'm thinking of cutting out the whole trapezoid (two windows and mesh)and replacing with plexi.

Yeah that's what I was trying for not really sure how effective it is though. Case temps seem fine so far.

That would look really nice, but that hard part would be getting the plexi to the exact shape to fit flush in the raised portion of the side panel.

I like what you did with the fan up front thumb.gif

added a side fan because the gpu was running 3-4c hotter then when I had one on. Definitly gonna have to redo the vinyl cover later on, got a bit scratched up while I was trying to cut the circle in it. Also soldered up a fan guard with some left over pipe I had laying around.

rearranged the fan directions a bit..I think the hot air from the rad is what was causing the gpu to heat up a bit. I want a positive air pressure to keep the inside of my case a bit more dust free so I took off the rear exhaust fan. Also I changes the fan controler to controle the fans on the rad which were the loudest. So now when I'm not gaming the computer is a bit more quieter.

Should I change the exhaust fan to intake for better positive pressure, or will that create some bad air flow? (my front and side intakes are quiet low rpms)
