I feel that statements about this mouse being slippery are exaggerated. Fully matte rubber mice are meant to be easier to grip. I've had normal death adders and abyssus mice and they were all slippery and frankly gross after about a few hours of use due to the plastic sides. I think many hardcore gamers prefer the fully matte finish for grippage reasons. Perhaps if your hand is dry or on the smaller side the mouse might feel "slippery" but if you are comparing it to the glossy sides of many mice, it is still inherently superior IMO.
As a further addenum of why I had to return the mouse, I used an EVO 2 because I needed a smaller mice for SC2 so I can finger touch my mouse properly. When a mouse is that small, it is my personal opinion that it NEEDS omron switches for competitive. The switches are better feeling than the Zowie AM, but it is ultimately not a good enough mouse for SC 2 IMO because of fundamental design flaws. The Zowie AM had stiff-feeling switches because it is so narrow and the mouse failed to provide a stable platform for your finger to provide enough pressure to actuate the stiffer-feeling Huano switches: the mouse would literally slide if you were pressing buttons quickly, making the mouse inaccurate for RTS high-apm usage. In addition, because the buttons are built into the body of the mouse, both keys tend to have even stiffer resistance.
The EC2 is wider and bigger than the zowie AM and the problem is not so pronounced. In many ways I feel that this mouse is perfect for most uses. However, I play SC2 and RTS's as my main games of choice and they all require high APM. The tiny differences in stiffness actuating the mouse hurts my APM significantly. In addition, the stiffness of Huano switches on a smaller size mouse means you often misclick because the pressure required to actuate them also causes the mouse to slide (though not as badly as the Zowie AM did).
Now if you have big beefy arms or don't play RTS at a high level, I doubt you will notice these things but it was enough for me to return the mouse. If Zowie ever makes mice with good omron switches I will be the first to buy them. For now I have to make do with my CM Scout Spawn which is a good mouse but has a few annoying gripes (thick, annoying cord and tiny side buttons). The main reason is that the Spawn's buttons are the silkiest smooth tactile feeling I have ever felt and perfect for high APM situations. A big reasons it the Omrons inside.
Also, can Mouse manufacturers PLEASE stop building buttons into the shell of the mouse. It saves money but it makes buttons noticeably stiffer. Also mice tend to lose tactile feeling overtime. The Death Adders and to a lesser extent MX518's/G400's all exhibited this behavior.
