I'd like to see a massive fan at low RPM somehow work for a heatsink of that size. Fanless for a CPU means almost nothing to me because my GPU is always the loudest thing in my case. I guess if you had some quiet watercooling it might make a difference. Speaking of which, maybe if you could run water through or around the heatsink that could help quite a bit. Not sure how though since it isn't made to have water flow through it. As it is, this thing has very few uses at its current size.

You would get much more price-performance-quietness out of a conventional tower heatsink with a 500 rpm fan and a few slow spinning fans inside the case. Passive is not very practical for desktop computers.
