[IGN] Can You Run Max Payne 3? - Page 4

I don't think the recommended requirements are real lol I mean seriously "i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ" That means only a small amount of people will be able to max it, unless R* are trying to make a "Crysis 2". But yes I can run it if those are the real requirements, probably medium at a playable frame rate.

You must be new to PC gaming.

Plane X. It requires 80GB

I don't think people are using their brains on this one. They're saying from x hardware to x hardware and everything in between will be able to run it. The worst of hardware and the best of hardware will run it. They're not saying you need the best of the best to just run it, they're saying that good or bad: you will be able to play the game.

Oh, and GTA IV's engine was poorly optimized for the PC and consoles, however that was Rockstar's first real go at the PS3, 360 and PC. I think they had a real good try. They've had plenty of time to optimize and tweak the engine for console and PC, heck they gave the PC version DX11 support and tesselation, so i'm sure they've gotten somewhere. I'm not saying just because they've got DX11 for the PC version that it'll be run perfectly, i'm just saying to wait and see what it's like before jumping to conclusions that are based on a many-year-old game and engine.

Nope, they have had plenty of real goes with PC, the problem is GTA IV is the first "real game" to use their own game engine "R.A.G.E." that would be why it was poorly optimized. From seeing Red Dead Redemption I can tell that GTA V, and MP3 (assuming MP3 will be using the R.A.G.E. engine, I don't know I haven't looked it up) will be a lot better.

Seem like the games scales with hardware configs. Good news for people that don't want to or can't upgrade.

I'm astonished by the amount of people in this thread who didn't realize those were ranges in the specs.

Yes but why would they publish that? Anyone with a 3930K and GTX 680 know their PC will be able to run it fine, all that is doing is putting off most people who wanted it on PC and don't know much about computers.

It could just be like in my other post where I said R* could be trying to make a "Crysis 2"

It's no coincidence the max is a gtx680 and 16gb ram. That's just the max range of hardware that most 'hardcore' enthusiasts run.

A 6970/570 should be more than enough to run this game maxed.

^^THIS

Most forums I frequent are having panic attacks over the specs.

However, the 35GB HDD space needed is dubious.

There's no way a game could possibly consume 16GB of ram in nowadays. 4GB MAXIMUM.

Those details are stupid, plain ridiculousness.
