If we're talking about waiting a bit for the new mobile GPU's and ivy bridge mobile CPU's, then, you're going to hate the next year in computing as purchasing something now knowing you could've gotten something better if you'd waited X amount of time will surely promote buyers remorse.

Then again, how exactly do you gauge it in your head? Would you rather spend say, $1000 on a laptop that will run pretty much every game at medium settings? Then another $1000 on the next generation hardware a year or two down the line to gain the same performance? Or would you rather put it all into one powerful rig that will run almost all games on high right now, until newer technology comes out in the next year or two that will make your new powerful rig today, feel like a $1000 rig in the future?

Personally, I'd go with the $2000 rig like you pretty much are going to do, heck just think, live for the moment eh!? Wait for the 7970m as suggested previously, I'm sure it'll last a good 3 years before it becomes underpowered.

The upside to only spending $1000 a year is that you get a new toy to play with quite frequently tongue.gif!

I really want to sell my main rig and get a fast laptop, since I already spend most of my time on my laptop anyway! Which absolutely sucks for me, but I like to be more sociable and a laptop enables me to do so.

Good luck with your purchase(s)
