If Half Life 3 doesn't exist and they do something completely different instead, I wouldn't mind. I actually might prefer it.

Also, Half Life 2 was in development longer than Half Life 3 has been thus far. I wouldn't start worrying until 2014.

So this article pretty much explains nothing. Its pretty obvious why valve is not making HL3, why spend a huge amount resources in a blockbuster game; which probably will have a smaller net return than cod or any blizz game when they can sell other people's games and generate a billion with steam revenue. They keep saying stuff that if HL3 was ever created they would want to do the game justice, why don't they at least announce its in development then? This is not the same valve anymore, its the valve store.

Ricochet 1 was a free official mod made by Valve for people that bought HL1 (before Steam). It looks Quake-Tron deathmatch.

I highly doubt Half-Life 3 will ever release. It's just been too long and they've got nothing to show for all that time between HL2 Episode 2 and present day. HL3 has always been and likely always will be vaporware.
