Sandisk Extereme underperforming - SATAII to blame?

So, i hope i might get some help here..

I just got the above mentioned drive (120GB) for my Asus G73JH laptop, and have some concerns about its speed. While games load faster, i still don't get that sense of awe that i heard so much about.

So, i threw a couple of benchmarks at it, and here is what i got:
511

Compared to:
http://www.eteknix.com/reviews/storage/sandisk-extreme-120gb-solid-state-drive-review/5/
http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/storage/36529-sandisk-extreme-ssd-120gb/?page=5

IN this case, my 4K read is half the speed of others, and my 4k write is anywhere from 1/3 to 1/4 of what they are getting.

Another bench:
377

Compared to:
http://www.eteknix.com/reviews/storage/sandisk-extreme-120gb-solid-state-drive-review/7/
http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/storage/36529-sandisk-extreme-ssd-120gb/?page=4

Again, the 4k vastly underperforming..

Now, i know given that it is SATAII vs SATAII, my sequential read will be halved, but would my 4K really be killed that much? I am concerned most about this bench, given it has the most real-world impact (loading games, windows, etc). I am at a loss of what i can do differently.. i have the latest intel RST drivers, latest intel INF, etc.. Should i bother formatting and trying again? Or is this what i really can expect on SATAII?

It isn't SATA 3Gb/s fault, it is the laptop. Laptops and net books power saving features cut speeds.

Aye -

I stumbled upon this after double checking all my tweaks:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/solid-state-drives-ssds-flash-storage/513313-laptops-w-intel-series-5-chipset-can-not-take-full-advantage-fast-ssds.html

I did the two tweaks posted, and got better results...
