Do you experience any micrsotuttering with SLI 680's? - Page 3

Feel free to log frame times with FRAPS and see for yourself.

So have a frame limiter to reduce stutter?

Yep, frame limiter does the trick. The issue with this is that you need around 10-15% headroom above 30 fps to reduce the load and still have a playable frame rate.

It would be brilliant if NVIDIA or AMD could integrate a frame limit with the 3d profile for each game so that you could save your limits per game.

Well I will just echo then what everyone has been saying. At one time I had a 480SLI setup and a 5850CF setup. The microstutter wasn't unbearable on either but it was slightly smoother on the 480s. I'd definitely buy into more powerful GPU's it being less noticibale but still there.

That is possible with NVIDIA Inspector. I'm not quite sure why NVIDIA doesn't include it in the driver control panel.

Afterburner lets you do it as well.

I didn't see a place in Afterburner to set a frame limit. I am using the latest release 2.2.0. Could you tell me where this is?

Ok, cool I didn't know that. I am relatively new to the NVIDIA camp so I am still learning. What exactly does NVIDIA inspector do?

If you go to your system tray, there should be a second, slightly different afterburner icon, and this will open up the riva piece of AB. This is where you'd configure the frame limiter. Sorry I cannot be more detailed (going from memory), as I am not at home.

Ok, I tried to use that over the weekend but couldn't get it to work for me. I selected Afterburner from the list of programs and then clicked the wrench and set a frame limit.
