So those of you that bought the game, how is it? I figured I'd wait a few days and see what people had to say about it but I haven't really heard much yet.

This game is amazingly fun! (I love snipers). Like the other said, try the demo on steam. I like how the feature they have in the games. And its WWII!

The sniping is great and the x-ray kill cam is awesome, however I feel a bit let down in other areas.

There isn't all that much emphasis on stealth. True rushing in is a quick way to get killed, but it's more about picking a good spot and shooting everyone. You can't really sneak past a lot of the levels. I was hoping you could play the game in a more "realistic" fashion; avoid detection whilst getting to your sniping position, take the shot and then have to fight your way out. For me DE:HR got this right - sneak or fight.

There is a random spawning issue which gets a little annoying at times; you can clear a street, scan the buildings for snipers, turn a corner and suddenly there is an enemy sniper on the building you just checked.

Sometimes the levels feel a little hemmed in. This isn't an open world game or one with multiple paths, it is more on rails. The level design often makes it feel a lot bigger and more open though, so this is a minor issue.

Overall I think it is a good game, just falls shy of being great. I'm glad I got it and I enjoy playing it. I don't think it will become a classic though.

How is the multiplayer game play in this game? I must admit I don't spend $45 and up on games any more. Most I spend is usually in the $5-$20 range when it goes on sale.

Also I suppose there really is no story or link to your character. Your just shooting Germans, and shooting more germans to get to the next level right?

Cheers

Gosh no. There is way more to it than that.

At some point you start shooting Russians too wink.gif

I already played the demo I was wondering more about multiplayer. I'm pretty much sold on the game already just curious on how good the MP is.

the single player AI is pretty much garbage frown.gif the enemy knows exactly where you are once you are aggroed, and they can shoot through walls frown.gif basically makes stalking/stealth useless which is a bummer since that is the main part of being a sniper. totally negated fieldcraft with that triggered spawn mechanics of the game frown.gif scouting ahead is useless since the mob hasn't even spawn yet till you moved pass some invisible line...

however, this game SHOULD be fun if you can find like minded people for MP action.

Unbelievably easy single player on elite. Beat it in a day and a half. Good game none the less. Not sure if it was worth $50.00 tho.

This game is a tad of a console port at the moment. Horrendous lag when engaging in a firefight+little to no players in multiplayer. When (and if) they patch it, it will be so much more awesome.
