E8400 Overclock - Have I maxxed out my CPU? - Page 2

Yea, these E8400s are fun easy clockers usually, especially the E0's. I had mine booting at 4.8GHz with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro as a cooler LOL. It ran at 4.5GHz with the same cooler and 1.33 volts for a year before I upgraded to a Q9550 smile.gif

Test to see if it's just a FSB problem... Drop your CPU multiplier to 6x, jump your FSB up to like 450. See if it is able to boot. Not sure how the P5E boards work (I run a EP45-UD3P), but you should be setting your MCH up a little bit as you'll be running FSB, NB should be ok at 1.3, but you could always tweak it a bit higher (1.34 or so).
What type of Prime run is freezing? Small? large? blend?

I am freezing on blend after an hour+. I do not have MCH, I do have FSB Termination Voltage (VTT).
