What is better between 8g x2 ram or 4g x4 , remember this is for gaming. It's probably 8g 2x but I just want to make sure.

well, he said that money is not an issue, that's why i'm telling him to get an intel one.

like what i have said, amd is just fine, and intel is just better than amd. no stupid people here.

Stupid? Did you even check the benchmarks?
In some games i7 3770k beats AMD FX almost over 100%.

My FX-4100 could not run BF3. It stuttered no matter how much overclocking I did. Bought a 1045T for $100. My 1045T at stock(2.7) ran circles around my fx-4100. If your going to be gaming i would stay away from bulldozer and Get a Phenom II or 2500k. #justmy2cents thumb.gif

2x 4gb is waaayyy more than enough for gaming, but if you must then 2x 8gb is a better choice than 4x 4gb

+1 on this, phenom ii is better than BD, clock per clock, core per core, power consumption, and price.

Actually for online portion of BF3 FX-41xx isn't enough. You can try disable two modules to see for it yourselves.

@trumpet-205......... Absolutely agree with you ! Current applications have trouble running optimally with FX's core/module. Even FX 8xxx CPU isn't able to run games and othe apps optimally like Phenom II x4 and x6 have been running. FX 4xxx is not for gaming. I believe FX 4xxx series should be considered as an entry level general purpose CPU, not a gaming CPU.

If you want AMD then buy at least FX 81xx or Phenom II x6.
If you want Intel then buy any Sandy bridge/ Sandy bridge E/ Ivy Bridge quad core CPU.
