These are actually a really comfy pair of headphones. They even fit my big head. Pair them with that $10 Zalman mic, and you have a perfect gaming headset. Also, these don't need an amp at all. They are plenty loud, and the soundstage is great, too. They're even acceptable for music listening, though there's no real oomph in the bottom end.

These are good headphones for the price.

After I got my Shure SRH840s, though, there is simply no comparison. The JVCs are quite muddy and have a recessed high-end compared to the Shures.

frown.gif I wish I could understand all this audiophile lingo. No audiophile equipment = no knowledge of what muddy bass and recessed mids and clear highs and whatnot are.

I've had a pair for a while, paid $44 for them, and I love them. Cons are:
Rather heavy
Somewhat of a tight grip. I have to take a 15 minute break every hour of wearing them.
Long cord. Although I keep it wrapped with a clip so it doesn't get in the way.
Great sound all around. The 24 hour burn in will help with these cans.

This paired with a zalman clip on mic makes for great headset for around $40. I did the foam mod on mine to increase the sound stage and they're great.

There are other mods you can do with these too, here is where I learned about the foam mod.
