Edit: Also 101 bsod is usually what I get when my CPU needs more volts, 124 can be more or less vcore or more voltage to the VCCIO among other things.

These are the settings I have concerning that area:
Long Duration Power Limit: 150
Short Duration Power Limit: 150
Primary Plane Current Limit: Auto
Secondary Plane Current Limit: Auto

I've not messed around with those plane current limits because I don't really know what they do. smile.gif

Throttling has more to do with motherboard than to do with CPU. With better motherboard, you can go further before motherboard couldn't take it. You still haven't hit the limit on your CPU, so it is hard to say just how high you can go.

Yeah I know it's small, but according to reviews it cools the surrounding components by ~2'C. Do you think it would suffice to turn the upper 120mm (Enermax Magma 120MM UCMA12) fan in my P180 to blow inwards (a photo I found with google):

How is your case airflow right now? How many fans in what directions?

On my Extreme4 the core current was in the same location that you set the vcore in the bios, and it limits how much power the CPU will draw. At stock settings my goal of 5GHz was too much for the stock setting, so 200 or 250 should probably be enough. It might look like this image.

4 of the 5 fans in the case can be seen in that picture.
Top 120mm blowing out
Back 120mm blowing out
CPU cooler 120mm blowing through CPU cooler (towards back fan)
Bottom 120mm blowing towards PSU

The one 120mm you cannot see, is at the front of the hard disk cage (with only 1 HDD) blowing straight towards the graphics card.

I think you should even up the air pressure on your case. Maybe set the rear fan to intake and let the top fan do all the exhaust?

I would do a better job on cable management, if that photo accurately reflects your cables right now.

If you want a good cooler that also cools surrounding VRM, consider Noctua C12P.

But wouldn't that disturb the flow around the CPU cooler, as the CPU fan is blowing through the fins towards the back case fan (they are like 4-5cm apart from eachother). This back case fan then helps the warm air from the cpu cooler escape through the back of the case. With your suggestion the back fan would force the warm air back into the cpu cooler.

Or am I just overthinking it?

That photo is nowhere even close to my cables, mine are tidy as can be, with zip-ties and everything. smile.gif I spent three hours on the cables yesterday while building the computer. It's quite hard when there aren't those nice cable management holes around the motherboard tray like in many current cases.

There really isn't any space around the cpu for an extra fan, all I could do is change the direction of one of the two fans currencty around it (there is like 4-5cm space between case fans and cpu cooler).

Your CPU shouldn't be throttling beofre it reaches 98C.

What's your C-state setting?

C1? C3? C6?

Try to disable C3 and C6 if you've got them enabled.
