I quickly threw this together but comes in at $792.83. If you can find some 2500k + motherboard combo at Microcenter you can shave some cost off. And I'm sure there are other areas you can cut cost a bit but like I said it won't be easy to get this build under $700

Yeah I'd say if you want that level of performance a 2500k build is going to deliver you'll probably need to save a little more.

yeah, that is fine and that build looks very nice. i should be able to run basic graphics and processes from the graphics embedded into the cpu right? so i should be able to hold off on the video card for a little while or until i want to play more intense 3D games. so that means i could presumably start at around $550 and use basic functions until i can buy the video card

Exactly, the integrated GPU in the 2500k isn't nearly powerful enough to play graphic intensive games but you can surf the web and write papers like a king with it. And you'll have a great platform for gaming once you do decide to get a video card.

The battlefront aint on the desktop and hasnt been since a8 was lunched.even latest cant keep up with the a8 apu in gaming.and with amd opencl gpucpu of doing thing and showing it off via winzip isnt gona put customer in intel hand.this battle has just started and i doubt nvidia will stand still.worst this is arm turf .so it will be interesting to see what happen in the next 24 month.amd intel and nvidia are going uphill against arm so i bet it wont be easy

You need an aftermarket one bro, the included cooler can barely cool the cpu at stock clock.

You're definitely going to want to get an aftermarket CPU fan. The stock fan isn't really suitable for overclocking.

I suppose it's only fair to say that you could probably build a decent gaming computer using an AMD platform but i just feel that while more expensive a 2500k build is just the way to go.
