Yeah no he's right. IB can take more heat - It makes sense too because it has a higher TjMaxx, which is 105C.

15C more than SB may be wrong, it's more like 5-10C. It may take it more, but not many want to test it out.

Yeah I agree there. I'd probably feel safe up to 90C on an IB whereas I'd feel safe up to 80C on a SB.

Yep, the only time you see temps like that is when on prime or IBT. I doubt gaming or daily uses even folding can reach that high.

I think I'll take the $200 bucks I got for selling my 2500k earlier in the week and put that towards a 3570k and hold out for a while from there.

I'm really on the fence, my birthday was on the 27th and I am just now coming back to chicago where there are two microcenters right by me. The original plan was to just get an i5 and z68 board and give the 2500k to my girlfriend and use her 2600k. However since IVY Bridge was coming out right after my birthday I decided to get myself a little present and upgrade to a 3570k, but upon reading more and more reviews I'm not sure if I should just go with the 2600k for 20 bucks less.

Anyone have any input? I would love to get the new tech but I run a pcie 2 card and I really don't see many reviews that make me go "Wow I'm going to get that!" I am upgrading from a q8300, but the situation means I can get a 2600k for the price of a 2500k.

EDIT: I also will be doing a good portion of live streaming and such. Really leaning toward 2600K and an upgrade to an ivy bridge i7 next year.

I am not sure where you are buying a 2600K for $190 new because the 3570K is $190 at microcenter.. but if you can get it for that price then definitely get the 2600K.

I'm not, I am trading her an i5 for it.

So the 2600k is still going to out perform the new Ivy Bridge i5 huh? Alright, thanks for the input.
