Is it worth it going from a 1055T to an i5 3570K? How much of an increase should I expect in games? thx

Only if you can sell your current system or have an use for it. Performance increase would be pretty good but worth the money? depends how enthusiast you are

So the 2600k is still going to out perform the new Ivy Bridge i5 huh? Alright, thanks for the input.

Well in a purely streaming standpoint, probably not considering streaming isn't going to use 8 threads.. at least I wouldn't think so. IF that is all you do then an i5 would probably suffice and be better(assuming similar clock rates) due to an higher IPC.

I thought you had an option to pickup a 2600K for that amazing price - which I would do, but since your selling and re-buying I don't think it'd be needed for your uses so the cost isn't justified.

To answer the OP thread I would have to say 2500K knowing what I do now. I obviously already have a 2500K @ 4.7 so I'm slightly biased. The rumored heat issues and TIM used on the IHS instead of solder kind of irked me but I'm sure it will be a good chip.

I wanted 3570k, then I heard it was going to cost $300 in Canada, so I switched to the 2500k. Then I found 3570k for $239 and just ordered it from NCIX.ca. I've been going back and forth for weeks and finally pulled the trigger. Feels good man.

Update from a Microcenter Employee: Today all of the 3570ks and i mean every single one we had was put on web order before the store even opened. Which meant that no customer who came into the store could buy one unless he reserved it online. In fact, two gentlemen camped out for a few hours outside apparently. They didn't order online but figured that because they were there at the store first they would get their processors. Was really sad to see the look on their faces when we told them about the web order fiasco. We'll have tons more within the week anyways, but still sad.

What the ones that will be shipped to their houses? I ordered one online with next day shipping and I got an email said my order have been confirmed. I checked my order status and it said "routed". What "routed" mean?
