New Build: On the ever so rare occasion system won't power on, power button becomes unresponsive.

Problems with the new build, should be at the bottom of my post. Sometimes, and it's very rare, I go to turn my computer on after it's been sitting overnight and it won't power on. Power button becomes unresponsive until after I turn the switch on the back of the PSU into the off position and then drain the remaining charge from the components with the case power switch, then after returning the PSU switch back into the on position my computer comes to life and runs like a top. Power button isn't the culprit, have tried jumping the pins on the mobo when it happens and that method brings no results, only draining the charge from the components then lets me power on normally. System is running in it's stock configuration, no overclocking. Since this is so hard to reproduce (I haven't been able to reproduce it at all, just happens when it happens) I'd like to know the most likely candidate for an RMA. Thanks in advance! worriedsmiley.gif

Seems I've put this in the wrong section of the forum, if a mod could move it to the appropriate place it would be most appreciated. blushsmiley.gif

well since no one could be bothered to post here, I'll follow up. replaced the PSU and it's still doing the same thing, sending my mobo to the manufacturer in a few days for a replacement.

Gotta love your avatar!

This has to be one of the strangest problems I've ever heard of... and I've heard of some really bizarre things. You do know that computers are infested with gremlins whos' sole purpose in life is to tweek our minds with this sort of computer problem.biggrin.gif

I have a HD 6570 card that HDMI will not work when in my entertainment system tested on 3 different monitors, but works in 2 other systems tested on same monitors.rolleyes.gif My solution was getting an HD5770.. and now I can't get 5.1 sound to work... onboard audio or Audigy ZS 2 Fracking gremlins!!!mad.gif
