gtx 480 is one of the best cards currently around the $200-$210 mark.

I have to agree with the GTX480 suggestion, as long as you have good airflow, you won't be disappointed at all! I understand that you have a predisposition towards ATI. But not considering nVidia is quite similar to the mindset the "ATI bashers" have. I am not accusing you of being biased, but to be a wise shopper you should be asking "What is the best videocard in my price range?". Not "Which ATI is best in my price range."

As you can see from my sig rig I am not an nVidia fanboy in any way, but the GTX 480 is a great deal at it's current price!

Another vote for the 480. And the previous estimate of the card matching a 560Ti is just wrong wrong. A gtx480 is at the same level with a 570 but has more memory. (especially if you OC it, they're beasts if you've got the airflow to keep them cool)

Well I know which nvidia card is the top of the line for the 200 dollar range and that'd be the gtx 480 which is on new egg for 209.99. I just wanted to know what the best ATI card would be for that price and then make a decision.

but for some reason i can't pull the trigger.
My budget is around 200 bucks. I can go over a bit but the lower the better. if you can find me a good card around 180 than can run:
s2
d3
gw2
swtor
cs:go
That would be awesome but i'm willing to spend 200 maybe a bit more if it could do those at 1920x1080 at max and a side monitor at 1680x1050
or would I have to xfire?
LIKE I SAID AGAIN NO BASHING OR SAYING ATI IS CRAP. I just want info about this card and others around it's price range.
Thanks.

this is not bashing, this is personal preference. i have had both a 6870(had 2 in crossfire) and a gtx 560ti. go with the 560ti. its alot faster for only a minimal $ amount. that said. the 6870's are fun cards to play with. enjoy whatever you buy as it has to make you happy.

GTX 480 would be better and it peforms very similar to GTX 570.

Gtx 570, 480 or 560ti 2gb version will all completly utterly destroy that 6870.
+1 to all the gtx reccomendations.
