Intel X79 build "Royale Burple"

Thread Starter
Hey All, I have been a long time lurker on the forums. I post on other forums such as PureOC on regular basis.
Decided to start a build log here since I have been a little more active on this site also.

I started this build back in Jan or so, This build was built to replace my old AMD 990FXA system. I will be using this for gaming and of course some multi tasking for work and other varies photo projects.

Here is the parts I will used for this build. The build is almost complete, however not 100% finished yet. I am waiting on same cables to finish up the cable management as of 04/23/12.

A little history on some parts. I purchase the Case Labs TH10 case from a member here on OCN.
Other then that most of the parts were purchased new. My GPU came off my old AMD 990FXA build which I parted. I am looking at getting the GTX680 down the line but I am waiting for the 4GB ref. versions to be released.

The Case Labs Case was a little to plain for me in white, So I had my buddy that owns a body shop do a custom color for me. I wanted something a little diff so I had him paint the out part of the case "House of Colours Royal Purple with blue pearls" hence the name Royal Burple.

I also have other projects that I had posted in the water cooling gallery such as my 700D that is custom painted "Black Cherry Pearl" You can see that build in the gallery thread.

Here goes

Build Parts:
Case: Case Labs TH10 - White (Custom painted House of Colors "Royale Purple")
MB: Asus Sabertooth X79
CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 (will be OC once I get the build how I want it)
GPU: 2x XFX 6950 2GB (crossfire)
RAM: Corsair Veng. 32GB
HD: Corsair Force 3 SSD 120GB x2 (raid 0), WD Black Sata3 1TB (programs/data drive), 2x Sata3 Hitachi 2TB Green (photo/misc drive)
Optical Drive: Lite On Blu-Ray Burner
PSU:Corsair AX1200 with White Individual sleeved cables

Cooling Parts:
CPU Block: Swiftech Apogee HD White
GPU Block: Koolance VID AR-697 Ver 1.1 x2
Radiators: 2x XSPC EX480 Rad & 1x XSPC EX360
Res: Koolance 452x2 Laing D5 Res
Pump: 2x Swiftech MCP655 (manual speed) Ran in series
Hose: Primochill LRT Blue Tubing 1/2" ID and 3/4" OD
Fittings: Bitpower 1/2" ID Barb - Matte Black
Fan: 120mm Cooler Master SickleFlow (blue LED) x18
Fan Controller: Kaze 12 Channel , Zalman FMC-1 6 Channel

Here are some pics of the process from when I got the case delivered and as parts start to arrive and I was doing the build. The parts came in phases and deals I was able to get.

Also a Thanks to Gary and Sidewinder for the deal. Most of the water cooling parts came from sidewinders.

On to the pics. Some pics are from my iPhone and some from my SLR.

Cable management is not done yet, as I mentioned still waiting on a few more cables.
I Should have this completed in the next week or 2 after some tweaking of little things here and there..

More pics to come.. Hope you enjoyed this...

I am not sure regarding the tubing right now.. I am looking to shorten the run a little bit. I will have to wait to see once I start to finish this up and how I can route the tubing better..

Ok, Here are some pics of my Final build.. I've been really busy with work the last few weeks so I am only able to spend maybe 30min to a hr a night working on this.
I haven't started OC the rig yet. But I FINALLY have some time this weekend to really dial it in so I will be working on it..

Sorry, I didn't really have the time to go out of my way to set-up a proper photo session for the rig, I just snapped some better pics when I rolled it into my office.

All the Fan cables are sleeved individually as well in black. Was going to use white but I thought it was going to be to much white.

A few questions. They might have been answered but I was too busy resisting the urge to make sweet love to myself from all your case glamour shots.

1) Why did you opt for EX rads as opposed to RX rads? Given your huge case, you have more than ample headroom for 60mm rads with p/p.
2) How do these fans fair with loudness? Silent? Acceptable? Please elaborate.
3) What kind of temps are we are you getting?

Thanks and I love the color-scheme!
